25 July Sentosa Island Singapore

Monday 25 July saw us all heading over to Sentosa Island for the day. It was another MRT trek into town, then after a snappy coffee at Starbucks it was on the monorail over to the island.

We started our island adventure with a trip through the nature walk. Just what we needed after living on a island like Pohnpei, but we did it anyway.

Wasn't Jurong Bird Park done the other day. They love these macaws here.

This now jumps to pretty much the last event of the day. Before now we had seen butterflys, parrots, a history of Singapore museum, gone on a 3D shoot-em-up ride, a 3D log ride and a 4D pirate ship adventure. We then took the luge down to the bottom of the hill for a swim at the beach. An action packed day so far and it wasn't over just yet. We then went into an 'Interaction with Animals' show. This monkey showed us his skills in knocking down coconuts, maybe we should employ him in our compound in Pohnpei.

The monkeys way of showing his appreciation to the audience.

Next up was a couple of eagles. Not the worlds best action shot (crappy autofocus) but you get the idea. They flew pretty close to the crowd.

Jaxon and Indi got pulled out of the crowd to help feed the macaws.

Indi wasn't quite as confident as Jaxon but gave it a go.

This lady was lucky enough to get to hold this python. Apparently they get to seven metres and 120kgs.

They definately can't get enough of these birds can they. Great colours on this one.

Nic wasn't that confident about touching the snake at the end of the show, but did it and lived to tell the tale.

Me not scared Daddy, see me not scared.

After the animal show it was back up the hill on the skyrail.

Nothing like no seatbelts at 50 feet in the air to make you hyper alert.

Nana and Granddad with a cleansing ale before continuing the day.

Yet another 21st photo for Jaxon. Who in their right mind drinks a strawberry milkshake in a pub!!!!!!!!!!

Next event was the Tiger Tower. It is pretty much as high as you can get in Singapor and revolves 360 degrees for about 10 minutes.

A view of the city from the Tiger Tower.

After the Tiger Tower it was onto the Cable Car for a great trip back to the MRT station.

Sunset over the Singapore Harbour. We got home about nine-thirty, definately a long day. The kids were great (most of the time) and yet another box ticked. Santosa Island done.
