23 July - Jurong Bird Park SIngapore

The first day of seven in Singapore. With all the research done our next week will be pretty busy visiting as much as we can, with the plan to relax once we hit Phuket next week.

Singapore's Mass Rapid Transport (MRT) system is fantastic and the absolute cheapest and best way to get anywhere. It is our plan to catch it most days to keep the money spending down (to some extent anyway).

So our first stop was Jurong Bird Park. It was a lot bigger than we imagined and pretty much filled in the day.

They say working with children and animals are the worlds biggest challenges. Well combining them is pretty bloody hard if you didn't know. About ten photos in this position to get one half decent one.....

Notice the rat bag kid looking off in another direction.

Awesome colours on these critters.

One of many 'holiday' snaps.

It certainly is easier taking the photos with the kids looking at the animals.

Like in Pohnpei it is very tropical here with the flora being very similar.

Now that's a furry looking pelican.

Nana and Jaxon in yet another 'holiday' photo.

The kids were very interested in seeing all the birds that they had only previously seen in books.

More fanastic colours.

Nothing like kids jumping into an exhibit to keep parents on their toes.

Looks familier.......

More flowers like on Pohnpei.

After watching 'Legend of the Guardian' a hundred times Jaxon had to see the owls.

Orchids are a big thing in Singapore and are pretty amazing.

The big bad kids at the back of the bus on the way to the MRT.

Day One over. Six to go. Jurong Bird Park was definately worth the visit, kept the kids interested all day.
