16 Nov - Indi's Bday Party

 Grab a coffee or a red wine - this'll take a while.

A weeks worth of preparations for four hours of party time hardly seems worth it until you see the smiles on the kids' faces. Nic once again did a great job planning, cooking and getting set up. The theme of the party was 'Fairys' - boys come however you want....

First activity was to colour in your own crown.

Jaxon and Katie, loving it. Jaxon decided to start the day as Peter Pan.

Indi (aka Tinkerbell) and Kennidy.

Next game was pass the parcel - with a lolly in each layer everyone was a winner.

Lining up for 'Pin the Wings on Tinkerbell'

Laughter all round; until it's your go.....

Looks like a happy Tinkerbell to me.

Mummy Fairy with the birthday girl.

The Hairy Scary Fairy had a few adults as well as kids wondering what the hell was going on.... What can I say 23 years in the Navy changes a man......

Peter Pan quickly changed into Obiwan Kenobi, including a new lightsaber.

Silly Lilly even made an appearance which helped burn off some lollys and cake.

I'm sure mother hen wasn't impressed with the intrusion into her domain.

Cake Time!!!!!!!! Top job Mummy.

Very happy with Mummy's efforts.

I'm sure all the Mums were groaning when their daughters saw this cake....

Nothing like birthday cake to slow things down for a little while.

The Muffin and Hairy Scary Fairy. Definately Daddy's little girl.

Next up was the slip-and-slide.

The kids had obviously forgotten how to do it so the Hairy Scary Fairy gave another demo. Anyone seen a Lear Jet heading to a hospital in Sydney.....

I didn't take Jaxon too long to get the hang of it.

Soap subs and eyes don't generally mix well.

Oh so graceful Tinkerbell....

No major damage done.

Off to line up for another go.

Daddy and Indi, enjoying a slide together.

Line em and let em go. Kind of like dwarf tossing but gentler.

Luckily Mike stepped in to save my back.

What a lovely pair of fairys.

The lawn was enjoyed by all.

Finally.....

You'd think these guys didn't have grass as their houses. Oh that's right they don't. We are very lucky to have the compound to enjoy and invite people to.

What's wrong with this picture. Ross did a great job on getting the bbq started but being American I don't think he had seen real sausages before....

After dinner it was time to set up the projector for the kids.

So the adults could relax.

Grateful that the day went off without any major hitches. Nice work Mummy.

14 Nov - Indianna's Birthday

Indianna is at UCCP by herself this year, with Jaxon graduating last May and moving over to SDA for his schooling. As is often the case at UCCP, birthdays are a special occasions with the parents bringing in a cake to share for morning tea after a little ceremony.

The Philipino cake maker did another great job for us come birthday time.

All the kids sit in a circle and wait to welcome the birthday girl and a couple of friends. Indi was very excited to be the centre of attention.

Sitting at the head of the circle with her teacher.

Jaxon's old teacher and someone that has become one of our close friends on island - Miss Dersey.

A few kids were asked to come up as animals and say happy birthday. We took Jaxon out of school for the day so that he could join in the fun. He loved jumping up as a kangaroo.

Happy Birthday Princess Indi.

Lunchtime saw us eating quickly so that Jaxon could help with opening Indi's presents.

Smiles all round.

Kids - General

Another 'general' collection of photos - mostly the kids this time.

You know that uneasy feeling you get when it's way to quiet......... INDIANAA BABY Where are you? No answer. Off we go and find here sitting on the toilet with her fingernails and toenails painted; up the first knuckle. Kids, got to love em. Not a bad first attempt I must admit.

Halloween is massive here. Any excuse to get dressed up.

Five going on fifteen. Pretty cool.

Face painting at home. Good job Mummy. That's a very scarey tiger.

A robot I think......

Daughters..... Indi has started choosing her own clothes now. I can only imagine what she'll be wearing in ten years. Time to go back to sea....

Okay Okay. We'll sit still long enough to eat something.

Hey Soniber. Aren't you meant to be the security guard. We have been blessed with the current batch of gardening and security staff. The kids love them and they are only to willing to keep them entertained from time to time.

Not quite strong enough Muffin.

Jaxon Boy is off and racing though.

 Indi (aka Dora the Explorer).

Compound exercise.

The training wheels are off. Jaxon is on the bike every day now and loving it.

Yet another bloody day off school this month. At least the school had a fair to keep them entertained for a little while.

Dini and Silly Lilly (the rat) came over for a visit.

Indi is a very smart girl. That's an easy way to exercise the dog.
