13 July Pacific Partnership Closes in Style

The end of Pacific Partnership saw us once again to be invited up to the US Ambassador's residence for an Official Function. A selected group of the crew also got a gurnsey which was great to see as they had been part of the teams doing all the work.

This impressive 150kg+ pig was donated for the occasion.

Cooked the Pohnpean way. Life in the Pacific never ceases to amaze us.

Commodore of the mission Caption Jesse Wilson passed on some great closing remarks.

Whenever the US Ambassador throws a party you know it will be a big one.

Look out the drinking shirt is on. Nic looking beautiful as always.

The crew didn't mind lining up for this food. Might have been a little better than what they are used to onboard.

The US Navy band was once again on hand to provide some background music.

Some of the local dancers also added to the festivities.

They all looked great and did an awesome job.
Strategic coconut shells and all.

Once the traditional music finished the dance floor was opened up for one and all.

Official end time was 9pm. Scott, the US Ambassador and Captain Wilson drank until about 10:30; the drinking shirt was on.

Yet another great party at the US Ambassador's house.
