09 July Boat Trip

Slowly gettting through updating the blog. Takes bloody ages. Anyway last Saturday we took the boat out for a snorkel, dive and quick fish. We went to Manta Road in search of those magnific Mantas but unfortunately they didn't turn up for us. Can't have everying in an island paradise I guess. We did manage a great snorkel over the reefs on either side of Manta Road and found the usual suspects.

I still find it hard to get a good picture of Nemo. They always face straight on. 18 months to go to get some 'good' Nemo photos.

Beautiful colours on this parrot fish.

A virtual Garden of Eden under the water. Mesmorising.

The water temperature has resulted in most of the island's coral reefs being bleached. Unfortunate for the coral but it provides a great contrast for the colourful fish.

Always great to see the boat when you come back to the surface.

Nic, Stephen and Lori did a dive. Unfortunately it was into the current so the going was tough. Scenic, but tough. We saw a massive flock of birds working the water outside the reef so we went out for a half an hour but could entice any fish to join us on the boat.

So after we cleaned the boat I cooked up a feast of seared dogtooth tuna and lobster tails for dinner. Not a bad way to end another great day.
