San Diego

We had finally reached our last stop; but we weren't done yet, not by a long shot. We got to the hotel before we could check in so it was 'pile the luggage into the storeroom and head out'.

Not far from the hotel was 'Old Town'. One of the original suburbs of San Diego has been transformed into a tourist haven with awesome mexican food, souvenirs and museums. Nothing lets you know you've arrive in San Diego more than a macraricha band.

Nic loves mexican food and was in food heaven.

The 20th of August was my birthday so we decided to have a break for tourist parks and go to the beach. After a walk along the waterfront houses at Mission Beach we went to the pub for lunch.

The food was good, the beer was cold and they had guys and girls surfing in the pub, does it get any better.

Mid-week and the beaches are still packed.

More macraricha players. Notice the 'tips' song, nothing comes for free in the US of A.

The kids were great for the duration of the holiday. Must have been the promises of desert with most meal.

Father and son. May it be this good for a long time to come.

I'm 40 today and my metabolism isn't slowly down yet, but this meal tried it's hardest.

San Diego was great but busy.
Day 1: Old Town
