After a six hour drive from Napa we arrived at Lake Tahoe. The drive seemed to pass pretty quickly, maybe it was the very windy mountain road you have to drive on to get there.
As soon as we were checked into the hotel it was straight back in the car and down to Zephyr Cove and onboard the MS Dixie II for a cruise to Emerald Bay.
With the water at 55F you'd expect that it would have been cold. The sun was out and it was definately t-shirt weather. After Alaska it would have to be really cold for us to be cold.
Glad to be out of the car.
There is a lot of money at Lake Tohoe. The 'summer homes' are amazing.
After a very quick cruise we arrived in Emerald Bay. A very beautiful place.
The next day we hired bikes and rode the bike path along the foreshore and through the surrounding forest. Jaxon surprised me, I actually just cruised at some stages and I could feel the power coming from him peddling us along.
It was a really nice day and we packed the swimmers into the bikes so we thought why not go for a swim.
Last one in is a rotten egg.
Nic was happy to show off all her hard work in the gym. Looking good.
I guess I was the rotten egg. No matter how hot the day was, 55F water is still way to bloody cold for me to think about getting in to.
Loaded up after a quick rinse off and back to the hotel. Can't beat the scenery on this ride.
Nothing beats a relaxing cocktail and some quality mexican food after a hard days holidaying.
Unfortunately our three days in Tahoe went way to quick. So we loaded up the car once again and headed north.
Lake Tahoe is massive, it took an hour just to get from the southern end to the highway north.
We stopped into one of the little townships on the northern end of Lake Tahoe for a quick breakfast. No they're not real bears......
