Disney Cruise - Onboard

The Disney Wonder accommodates up to 2400 people in 875 rooms with approximately 950 staff. It's a pretty impressive operation. All meals are free, everywhere on the ship except the 'up market' restaurant 'Palo' - you have to pay $20 for that one. There was a movie cinema onboard and a massive theatre. You had to pay for own drinks but with two kids there wasn't a whole lot of that kind of mischief going on.

Our first drinks on the pool deck. At least now when it's cold and I say 'It's bloody artic' I've got some credibility. Who drinks an icy cocktail in the freezing bloody cold......

 Happy to be underway.

The crew were magnificent. This is a photo from the 'Welcome Party' on the pool deck.

And they brought out the big guns just to remind us we were on a Disney Cruise.

Dinner was with the same family every night. Luckily for us they were really nice people, with a son about Jaxon's age. I'm sure Disney planned it that way; they're very organised.

We also had the same waiter and waitress each night. Our waiter was from South Africa so I enjoyed a few conversations about rugby and cricket amoungst all the crazy American sports on television.

Yes it's a waterslide. A waterslide on a ship in Alaska. Nic and I were cold just sitting on the side of the pool, didn't stop the kids from going nuts though.

Jaxon doesn't have a 'go slow' button.

 Launch the 'Muffin'.

That's yet another waterslide successfully ticked off for this three year old.

Just kicking back Mum, I'm not leaving.

Mickey making an unscheduled walk through during a dinner.

Another one of those family photos.

Our 'stateroom. Each day the room service team would fold away the kids bunk bed into the roof and bring out the couch and after dinner it would all be back in place.

With the kids secured in the ever present Disney Kids Club Nic and I escaped to Palo for a superb meal and some quality wine.

A pretty good deal for an extra $20.

I've come all the way to Alaska to eat New Zealand lamb...... By this stage I had eaten so much salmon I couldn't look at another piece.

The foyer was often the centre stage for partys. This was the 'Pirate Party' Arh me hearties....

They were pretty good most of the time..... I was just wondering when the 'holiday' was going to start.
