The place was scheduled to open at 1000. A small miracle happened and we actually arrived somewhere before we had planned to. Lucky as there was a line a couple of hundred metres long by the time the gates opened early at 0945.
It is the year of the dragon and don't they let you know it.
Trying the teach the kids to do the Wiggles Pose is more amusing than it might sound. Check out the eyes on Indi and Jaxon. Has he got yet it yet? No, good. Has she got it yet? No, good. Jaxon did have his 'gangster' hand and face poses weighed off by the of the trip though.
What do you do when you leave an island full of tropical fish? Go to a place that has a three story high fish tank to see more fish of course.
The glass was nearly three foot thick but clear as a bell. A massive tank with many different varieties of fish.
Once we got out of the aquarium it was off to take in the rest of Ocean Park. We had planned to go up in this tethered balloon. Unfortunately it was a little windy on our day.
Pandas were another one of the main reasons we picked Ocean Park as one of our places to visit. Amazing how this one didn't mind the kids getting close to it at all..... What is it with kids and wanting to climb all over everything?
There were 'shows' pretty much all day on the main stage. This was a good opportunity to plonk down and rest while the kids were kept entertained. Kind of like a real live TV.
Everything has an ocean theme as you can imagine.
Indi needed a little reassurance that the killer whale wasn't going to 'eat her'.
Next up was the Panda enclosure. Pretty cool. Scott had only ever seen them once before in Japan and this was Nic's first time. Very rare and getting rarer.
Red Pandas. Equally as cool, maybe even a little bit cuter as well.
The variety of things to do at Ocean Park is amazing. Well we've come all this way, we might as well try and do it all.
The 'Frog Hopper'. What was Scott thinking when he suggested going on this ride? The kids loved it though. There is only so many times you want to go up and down rapidly before giving in.
Back to the aquarium resteraunt for lunch. This was the view from our table.
Next it was over the mountain on the cable car to the 'big kids' part of the park with all the fast rides. Unfortunately Jaxon was just under the minimum height for the roller coasters - probably a good thing for Scott's back that this was the case.
Daddy's little girl.
Luckily on this side of the mountain there was still heaps to keep younger (and older) kids entertained. I'm not sure the Chinese were too impressed with Indi's drumming skills.
