01 Feb Hong Kong - Market Streets

Once again with limited time we had to keep moving to get through the list of 'to do' things Nic had put together. There are plenty of 'Market Streets' where you can buy just about anything; legal or illegal.

One of Nic's 'to dos' was the Flower Market. Once again not being a massive flower person this was one of those 'being a supportive husband' moments (more like an hour or so). I ended up in a playground with the kids while Nic explored. There were flower shops for as far as the eye could see.

Fantastic colours, a massive variety. What more could you ask for.....

The next street market was a little more interesting. Bird Market Street. This guy obviously wasn't that excited about selling his bags of live grass hoppers.

Did I mention things 'illegal'. Anyone want to buy a toucan or maybe a south american parrot?

Thousands of birds, from all over the world. We felt like buying a couple just to let them go.

Next it was to Goldfish Market Street. Unbelievable but true. A three block section that sells nothing but pets. Mostly fish; fresh and salt water, but we saw dogs, cats, rabbits (bigger than cats), rats, mice, turtles, lizards, the list goes on.

You would hope they have a pretty high turnover of stock as you couldn't imagine they would be too healthy stuck in there for long.

Indi wanted a turtle. No bloody chance. They were cute though.

Goldfish bagged and tagged and ready to go. Whenever I've bought a goldfish they tell you to take it straight home and put it in the tank. These fellas would be on the wall in a bag all day.

That's the first day done and dusted. Time for more great food......
