The boat driver was running on 'island time' so we explored the dock for a little while.
What is it with boys and diggers?????
After an hour or so the boat turned up. We loaded all of our stuff and covered it up, just incase it rained on the way over. It is Pohnpei you know....
As luck would have it; a couple of hours into the stay and Jaxon has a fall, puts out his hands to stop himself and comes up screaming. We thought that he had broken his arm and we packed up the gear ready to make an early exit. Oh well, that's life with kids.
Half an hour later he was running around again like nothing had happened. Unpack the gear again......
The best part about living in Pohnpei is that you really learn to make the most of what you have. There is always something to do here if you really want to look.
The girls really enjoyed their time together on Black Coral. It is basic but great all the same.
Lucky I've been doing all those push-ups.
The 'day-trippers' headed home about 4pm. Not a life-jacket in sight. That's Pohnpei.
Lucky Jaxon had his two girlfriends to cheer him up.
Busted arm and all. Once you start something like this with one kid, the line forms.......
Johnathon did a great job cooking up a storm come dinner time.
The kids decided to put on a play for us at dinner time. Not a bad spot to practise for the show. A real room with a view.
Another great Pacific sunset.
The one room cabins provide a dry and rustic setting. Simply awesome couple of days.
Black Coral Island is right on the barrier reef of Pohnpei. Snorkelling here is first class.
The colours of the sea life is fantastic.
This big ray didn't count on us all dropping by for a look when he chose this spot.
The communial area where we sat to eat our meals.
Dinner is served. (Not sure is wrong with this pic).
Indi loving her dinner. The kids ran around all day, no afternoon 'down time' over here.
After dinner it was time for the show. The kids put on Peter Rabbit and The Billy Goats Gruff. It was entertaining to say the least.
To huge applause..............
Marshmellows in a make-shift camp fire. The ground was a little wet, but we got around that.
The next morning saw more snorkelling action out on the reef.
Mummy's favourite creature on the island.
As always Nemo shows up.
My attempt at an 'arty pic'.
Indi loving it on Black Coral.
It was a magic couple of days for sure and we'll be heading back over that way in a little while. When we got back to the main land I took Jaxon to the hospital for X-rays just to be sure. Apparently he had broken his arm about an inch about the wrist (both bones) 4-6 weeks earlier. We tried to think of when that could have been and remembered that he came off of his bike a little while back. No tears then and he never stopped using it. Tough little boy. He is now sporting a cast for the next two weeks just to ensure that it doesn't break again before it is fully healed.
Geez, your camera takes amazing photos underwater - or is it because you have read the instruction booklet and we haven't, because ours does not take such good pics.
