01 Jan - Family Boat Trip

Nine-thirty New Years Day saw us loading up the boat and heading out to the reef for a snorkel. As always the fishing rods were loaded in as well. We headed outside the reef for the transit to our destination, lures out but today just wasn't ours on the fishing front. Oh well, lucky we have plenty of fish in the freezer.

It didn't take too long to get to our spot and once we were anchored up over the side we went. It was a little rough and Indi wasn't having any part of it today.

On Daddy's back and back to the boat for you Indi.

The water was really clear today and made it easy to spot shells on the bottom.

We found this amazing anemone smack bang in the middle of a heap of dead coral.

Fantastic colours.

We weren't sure what this critter was but it was very cool also.

The sea slug from out of space.

Loads of beautiful fish.

Mummy's favourite, the blue starfish.

A great view of some black coral.

Peace and quiet at last.

The trip home saw Indi finally slow down to stopping point.

Jaxon and Nic played some sort of crazy game that had them laughing all the way home. 2012 is here, our last year on Pohnpei. We'll make the most of it and enjoy every day that we can be together as a family. There are always obstacles in a place like this but a positive attitude wins most of the battles.
