02 Oct - Olga's Birthday

Saturday was meant to be nice weather with a trip to Narlap Resort Island for the day with some friends. We awoke to the worst weather day we have had in Pohnpei, rain rain and more rain. It's not called the second wettest spot in earth for nothing I guess. It's not so bad as this is the first time since we arrived that we have changed plans due to the weather. We amended the plans to an afternoon/evening bbq at our friends Waldemar and Arena place.

Sausages and chicken on the webber. You little beauty.

Indi loves dogs. She squeals like a little girl every time she sees one.........

Jaxon enjoyed playing with the older boys. Nothing like a bit of rough and tumble to let you know where you sit in the pecking order.

Dinner is served. Notice the only kid that is already lined up and waiting. Straight into the front row for sure.

The sun finally came out and we enjoyed a light breeze during dinner. We had a good combination of people for the party. People born in Australia, England, Russia, Germany, Sisily, Pohnpei and some other northern european country that I can't remember.

Olga introduced us to the German tradition of letting the kids blow out the candles while all the adults have to yell 'Don't spit on the cake'. Weird bloody germans.

Camera was playing up but it ain't hard to make out Indi on her fourth or fifth course for the evening.

Ole Jaxon boy doesn't mind his cake either.
